Substance Use and Recovery Needs in Ashland and Boyd County

Ashland sits in the Tri-State region where Kentucky, Ohio, and West Virginia meet. The source page emphasizes the impact that opioids, fentanyl, alcohol, methamphetamine, and co-occurring mental health concerns have had on individuals and families throughout the area.

Effective treatment should look beyond the substance itself. Withdrawal risk, mental health symptoms, trauma, physical health, family support, living environment, and relapse history can all affect which level of care is appropriate.

Why Ashland Residents Choose Addiction Treatment in Louisville

Traveling for treatment can provide access to a broader clinical team and multiple levels of care within one coordinated treatment plan. Louisville Addiction Center offers individualized addiction and mental health services at its East Market Street location in Louisville.

As recovery progresses, clients may transition between levels of care based on clinical needs, progress, stability, and recovery goals rather than following a one-size-fits-all timeline.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does addiction treatment cost, and will insurance help?

Treatment costs vary by insurance plan, clinical needs, and level of care. Admissions can verify benefits and explain expected coverage before treatment begins.

Can I keep working while attending IOP?

IOP is designed to provide structured treatment with more flexibility than PHP. Scheduling needs are reviewed during admissions so the recommended program can fit clinical needs and daily responsibilities when possible.

Is medical detox available before outpatient treatment?

Louisville Addiction Center currently describes medically supervised detox services as part of its treatment continuum. A clinical assessment helps determine whether detox is needed and what should follow it.

What happens after I complete a higher level of care?

Treatment can step down from more intensive services into IOP, outpatient care, relapse-prevention support, peer recovery resources, and other continuing-care services based on individual progress.

Is dual-diagnosis treatment available?

Yes. Addiction treatment can address co-occurring concerns such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and trauma alongside substance use.

LAC was great. I participated in the evening groups through zoom, which I originally had reservations about. Even though the meetings were online, they were still very engaging, informative, and personal. The therapist and case manager were incredible. They were both very authentic and supportive, and they were easily available when we needed them. I am very appreciative and grateful for this program.

LAC is an amazing treatment facility. Truly a 5 * place for treatment. From ownership, leadership to general staff this place is incredible. The therapist, Techs and speakers are all first class. The housing, if doing PHP like I participated in was also perfect. I met so many incredible people. It’s unreal to be honest. I today this day still stay in contact with most residents who I attended with. Thank you LAC for not only all of your help but also continued support!!!

I had the opportunity to tour and attend the open house for Louisville Addiction Center on 2/22/23. As and individual in recovery and also working for SUD, I couldn’t be more impressed with the facility and approach that LAC is taking and offering those affected by substance abuse. If you or a loved one is struggling, this facility would provide the treatment, love and comfort your family member deserves.
